Belgique and The People’s Forest

During the past two weeks, which have been filled with athletic and sporting feats beyond our wildest imaginings, the Beligique cafes, like many other local businesses, had to make the executive decision to cease deliveries around the local area. Local travel restrictions and delays made it difficult to be able to guarantee deliveries at certain times so instead of disappointing customers, which is something we are definitely not known for, we decided to opt for pick up only.

While we are sad to see the Olympics go, we are pleased to be able to announce that deliveries are back on track. This is a perfect opportunity to remind you of our deluxe gourmet picnic boxes. Why not take advantage of this service and enjoy a hamper filled with special meats, cheeses, breads and other delicious breakfast foods before setting off into the lovely Epping Forest, or even a romantic breakfast hamper to enjoy with a loved one.

Epping Forest is our own London piece of countryside. Spanning twelve kilometres in length, yet no more than four kilometres at its widest point, there is plenty to see, do and enjoy.

Back in May 1882 the lovely Queen Victoria dedicated Epping Forest, “This beautiful forest” to be used for the enjoyment of her people for all time. From this point onwards Epping Forest was often referred to as “The People’s Forest”. Having been given such a wonderful gift it would a shame to waste it.

Epping Forest holds host to any number of natural, historical and scientific wonders which can be explored. Epping Forest may also simply be enjoyed for what it is, a quiet piece of stunning natural beauty where you can walk, jog, run or relax whilst soaking up the unbeatable atmosphere.
There is little that makes us more ravenous that fresh air and exploring so start your day the best way and enjoy a delicious Belgique picnic box before losing yourself in the natural beauty of our People’s Forest.
