Deus Brut des Flandres, Literally the Champagne of Beers

Belgian beer fans, why not try something a little different this holiday season?

Looking for something a little different for a Christmas or New Years toast?  Deus Brut des Flandres boasts a wine-like strength at 11.5% and a bubbly drinking experience worthy of special occasions or any occasion for those with adventurous tastes.

Deus is brewed in Belgium by Bosteels Brewery then transported to the Champagne region of France for the rest of its process where sugars and yeast are added for re-fermentation and ageing.

The champagne process is continued with Deus being put into riddling racks which are turned daily and tilted downward for several weeks until they are eventually hanging upside down to force the sediment and yeast to settle in the neck of the bottle.  The bottle necks are then frozen and the yeast is removed.  A top-up of Deus Brut des Flandres champagne beer is added and the bottle is then corked and the lengthy and complicated brewing process is complete.

The result is a very dry, nuanced and complicated, highly carbonated beer that is great for special occasions.  Deus Brut des Flandres also makes a great gift and can be found in gift packs with champagne flutes.
